Woman injured in bear attack

Chitwan - A woman was injured when a bear attacked her inside the Chitwan National Park (CNP) in the district on Monday, the police said. 

Sirjana BK of Madi Municipality-6 was travelling on a motorcycle as a pillion passenger when the bear alongside its cub attacked her near the CNP's Dhurba Post, the CNP's authority said. 

Motorcycle rider Srijana's husband Sagar escaped the incident unhurt however. The bear attacked Srijana again when the motorcycle she was travelling on overturned at its first attack, the police said, adding that Injured Srijana was being treated at Chitwan Medical College, Bharatpur.
