Two rhinos swept away in flooding found alive at Susta

Nawalparasi - Two one-horned rhinos that were swept away by the recent floods have been found from Susta of the district. The rhinos were washed by the swollen Narayani River from Chitwan National Park (CNP). They were found at Chandragunj of Susta rural municipality-5.

Local people complained that they were worried about the pachyderm as they were roaming uncontrollably in the area.

A patrol was carried out to prevent rhinos from entering the nearby human settlements, said Assistant Sub Inspector Bhim Bahadur Chaudhary. The CNP and concerned District Forest Office have been informed of the stranded rhinos, he added.
