Kathmandu–Foreign Minister Pradip Kumar Gyawali has said that it was a feeling of pride to see the international community and investors describe Nepal as a rising star of South Asia in the Nepal Investment Summit 2019. The two-day Summit concluded successfully in the capital on Saturday.
Speaking at the 21st anniversary function of Reporters Club Nepal here today, he said Nepal has lately been portrayed as a developing and stable country and the Summit was an added incentive for the development of Nepal. "The government is moving ahead with a clear vision towards the path of socio-economic transformation. And we want to move ahead with the support of the international community, including neighbours China and India," he said.
The Foreign Minister also appealed for support of the media sector in the country's journey towards prosperity, with the continuity of a foreign policy to maintain close and friendly relations with all countries.
Also speaking at the programme, founder President of Non-Resident Nepalis Association Dr Upendra Mahato said the atmosphere in Nepal was conducive for achieving prosperity but the Nepalis should themselves work for economic development, and not always look for support from outsiders.
