DoFE, EPS Korea Branch cautions against false promises of job offers in South Korea

Kathmandu, Nov 7: The Employment Permit System (EPS) Korea Branch of the Department of Foreign Employment has clarified that the worker selection process through South Korea's EPS system is fair and reliable, and urged workers not to believe any false promises given by any individual, firm, or social platform.

The EPS Korea Branch has requested through a press release to not trust any false assurances given by any individual, firm or social media and to be cautious of such false publicity, misinformation, and rumours to avoid being defrauded.

"As it has been found that various fake Facebook and social media pages were created using the Branch's name to mislead service-seekers, the EPS Korea Branch has requests all stakeholders studying the Korean language and waiting for 'issue' while they are included in the roster to not follow such baseless and misleading information.

Around 120,000 Nepali workers have obtained employment opportunities in South Korea since the signing of the employment permit system (EPS) agreement between the Government of Nepal and the Government of South Korea in 2007.

"The headquarters of HRD Service of Korea registers these files and lists the names on the roster. Afterwards, the selection for employment is carried out by job centres under the Ministry of Employment and Labour of Korea, which deliver the files to the employers, the employers issue worker selection, and send the labour contract through Korea's employment selection system," the Branch stated in the press release.
