Bhadrapur–Mechinagar municipality has unveiled its budget of around Rs 1.43 billion for the fiscal year 2019/20.
The municipality made public its annual budget at a press conference on Wednesday. Meena Uprety, deputy mayor of the municipality, informed the fourth municipal assembly held from 25 June through 9 July had approved the budget.
The budget document states that the municipality will receive Rs 251.9 million from federal government and Rs 8.92 million from State-1 government under the heading of equalization grant.
The municipality has set its target to raise Inland Revenue of Rs 105.84 million from taxation. The new budget has laid emphasis on infrastructure development, agriculture, education and health.
This year the municipality has planned to increase Inland Revenue by Rs 60 million than that of last fiscal, shared deputy mayor Uprety.
Bimal Acharya, mayor of Mechinagar, informed that budget of Rs 13 million each has been appropriated for 15 wards of the municipality.
