AIG Pokharel to file writ petition against appointment of IGP

Pokharel’s petition is currently in the process of being registered at the Supreme Court.

KATHMANDU, May 2: Additional Inspector General (AIG) Bishwaraj Pokharel has reached the Supreme Court to file a writ petition against the government’s move to appoint an Inspector General of Police (IGP).

The government on Sunday appointed Dheeraj Prakash Singh to the post of  IGP of Nepal Police and Raju Aryal to the post of IGP of Armed Police Force. 

Singh and Aryal were presented with insignia by Tek Narayan Pandey, Secretary of Home Affairs amid an event held at the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday.

Pokharel’s petition is currently in the process of being registered at the Supreme Court.
