Russian Troops Shore Up Military Posture, Take Out 700 Ukrainian Soldiers
The Russian Western Group of Forces has shored up its military posture at the perimeter of Kupiansk on the combat frontline and inflicted heavy human casualties and material damages upon three mechanized brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported in a statement Wednesday.
The statement further noted that the Russian forces also knocked out Ukraine's Air Defence Brigade, Brigade of the National Guard near the towns of Petropavlivka and Kurylivka in Kharkiv Oblast, Sviatohirsk in Donetsk Oblast, Korovyi Yar in Donetsk Oblast, and Dronivka in Donetsk Oblast.
They likewise repelled seven attacks waged by the Ukrainian forces from Hryshyne village in Donetsk, the statement continued, affirming that these attacks were virtually intended to conduct an extraction operation for the besieged Ukrainian forces there.
The statement further noted that in the past 24 hours, 700 Ukrainian troops were taken out, in addition to destroying 26 armored combat vehicles, alongside 8 trucks and a cyberwarfare station. Meanwhile, four functionaries of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack.
Reports relayed by both countries remain conflicting regarding facts on the battlefield, as there are niceties that can hardly be verified by an independent source due to the ongoing battle since February 2022.
