Province 2 to go for election to decide name, capital

KATHMANDU, Jan 17: After failing to reach a consensus among the major political parties regarding the name and capital of the province, Province 2 has decided to go for an election.

Earlier, a special committee formed in the coordination of the Speaker of the Province, Saroj Kumar Yadav, had proposed four names for the Province and three names for the capital city.

A meeting of the provincial assembly is scheduled to be held today. After the discussion, the province will be helding an election to decide the names for the province and the capital city.

There are currently 104 members in the provincial assembly which makes 70 the majority vote.
